Dr. Mrs. Yaa Pokuaa Baiden has worn many hats: former Deputy CEO of the National Health Insurance Authority (NHIA) and the visionary behind the Pokuaa Balm of Gilead Foundation. Her commitment to transformative change has been a driving force in both realms.

As Deputy CEO of NHIA, she oversaw crucial functions such as employee engagement, strategic planning, workforce development and workplace diversity. She ensured a safe and conducive environment for staff while fostering effective communication and maintaining the corporate image of the NHIA.

Her leadership is evident in her record of managing complex assignments and implementing institution-wide initiatives. With a strong emphasis on attitudinal change and people-skills development, she draws on individual strengths to achieve results even within resource-constrained environments.

Her dual role illuminates pathways to healthier lives, brighter futures, and a world of unleashed potential.

She actively contributes to the growth of her community and profession. She has served as Chairperson of the Pharmaceutical Society of Ghana, Western Region, and as a Board Member of the Pharmaceutical Society of Ghana, and has held positions on committees and boards related to education, planning and governance.

Through the foundation, her passion for holistic health shines. Health consultations and meditation sessions rejuvenate bodies and minds, while initiatives like eye screenings and making NHIS accessible address pressing needs in the community.

Her dedication extends to young girls, who receive sanitary products that empower their education and self-esteem. The foundation also fuels learning by donating books and supplies, fostering curiosity in the next generation.
